Teachers should be paid consolidated allowance - CTU

The Ceylon Teachers Union says it is very unfair that teachers are not paid the consolidated allowance of public servants for carrying out services outside schools.

This allowance was raised through circular 20/2018, and it ranges between Rs. 700 and Rs. 1,000.

However, teachers do not get this allowance, CTU secretary Joseph Stalin says in a statement.

He urges the education secretary to pay the allowance to teachers as well.
