The tourists are a part of former ambassador - Udayanga Weeratunga's programme to bring in 1,000 Russian visitors each month.
Accordingly, SriLankan flights to Russia commenced only after 06 years.
SriLankan Airlines Airbus A330-300 UL 534 touched down at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport at 06.30am today.
The 51 travellers in the flight also included Sri Lankan ambassador to Russia - Prof. Lamahewa.
The airbus will depart for Moscow each Friday at 10.20pm and return to Sri Lanka at 06.10am Sunday.
