The vote on the third reading of the Bill was passed with 149 votes in favour and 58 votes against it.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya, National People’s Power and the Tamil National Alliance voted against the Bill.

Several amendments were tabled by the opposition during the Committee Stage or at the third reading, which did not receive the consent of the government.
