Egg prices to drop by Rs. 02

The All Island Egg Manufacturers Association has decided to reduce the price of an egg by Rs.2 from tomorrow (07).

The decision was taken following talks with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday at the Carlton House in Tangalle.

Accordingly, Chairman of the All Island Egg Manufacturers Association - RM Sarath said the wholesale price of a white egg will be reduced to Rs.19.50, and the price of a brown egg will be reduced to Rs.20.

This will reduce the retail price of a white and brown egg to Rs.21 and Rs.22 respectively.
