Sri Lankan Airlines was at 52nd place in 2011 and dropped to 73rd place in 2014.
Having maintained its position in 2015, Sri Lankan Airlines climbed up to 68th position in 2016.
However, in 2017 it dropped to 81st position on the world airline rankings and fell even lower to 95th position in 2018.
This year Sri Lankan Airlines has dropped off the top 100 list altogether.
The facilities provided to passengers, airport facilities, the courtesy and service provided by the cabin crew, comfort and facilities onboard the aircraft, quality of food and several other criteria are considered in determining the best airlines.
The 2019 airline rankings was released by Skytrax recently at a glittering ceremony. Travellers across the globe take part each year in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the winners.
