Following this year’s theme “The Global City: smart, sustainable and human”, second session of FOCUS is organized around the International Day for Democracy on September 15th 2017.
Gathering entrepreneurs, start-ups, local associations or movement builders to (re)think tomorrow’s city, the final objective is twofold: to show the potential of citizen’s engagement and community-driven initiatives to make the city smart, and to offer a platform for sharing good practices, incubating ideas and developing new cooperation between the various stakeholders of the city.
Organized in partnership with JCI-Sri Lanka, the panel discussion will include Mrs. Clémentine Malgras, a Ouishare Connector based in Paris, Ms. Achala Samaradiwakara, Co-founder and Managing Director of The Good Market, Mr. Jiffry Zulfer, Founder of PickMe and Mr. Danesh Jayatilaka, Fellow at the International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES). The discussion will be led by Dr. Ravi Fernando, Executive Director in Residence for INSEAD in France.
The special interactive format of the event will allow 3 groups representing the communities of the city to debate and submit ideas to the panelists. The public will also be invited to ask questions to the panelist.
