As per the agreement, FSDI should earn its consultancy fee of Rs. 12 billion by way of finding an investor.
Furthermore, its consultants are not qualified and some are even without proper visa to stay in the country.
RDA officials, political authority behind scam
A key figure in these scams is RDA chief engineer R.M. Gamini, who has been facing corruption accusations since during the previous regime.
So is the Paskaralingam committee of the political authority, RDA sources say.
The RDA has not found out if the consultants have the required professional qualifications.
Meanwhile, plans were to be made during prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s recent China tour to get the related agreement legalized, reports say.
