Ranil to India to finalize strategic agreements Featured

Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is due to tour India next week to finalize strategic agreements to be reached between the two countries, radiogagana.com reports.

Signing these agreements will take place during Indian premier Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka in May.

During his trip, Wickremesinghe will conclude the MoUs in connection with major development projects in Sri Lanka to be undertaken by India.

They include those on economic development such as the Trincomalee port development, setting up of an oil refinery and leasing land to Lanka IOC to build an oil storage complex.

This will be Wickremesinghe’s third visit to India after becoming the PM in 2015.
